The Central Philippine University Research Station for Philippine Native Chicken advances the methodologies in determining infections through blood analysis. With the recent development in the laboratory equipment at the Research and Development Learning Center, the station explores the various means to point out the presence of infections expressly. It eliminates the trial-and-error methods in controlling the pathogens in native chicken. This technology aims to customize medication for any form of the disease.

The costs associated with using veterinary drugs to control diseases are very significant. The raisers could not gamble to the health of their flock, considering the investments involved in it. Many of these raisers resulted from the use of synthetic medication even it does not meet the quality requirement of the niche market. Thus, the station took the initiative by exploring the possibility of customized medications among infected chickens. It is envisioned that the infection rate will be reduced through advanced screening of the native chicken blood in due time.
