Introducing the T.C. Robles Educational Foundation, a foundation affiliated with the Central Philippine University Research Centers for Philippine Native Chicken and Product Development. Our goal is to provide opportunities for students in the field of agriculture while contributing to the research and development of the country's native chicken industry. Since the establishment of the Research Center for Philippine Native Chicken in SY2011–2012, numerous students have been given the opportunity to work while pursuing their degrees. This work-study program not only helps financially struggling students but also aids in achieving the goals of the Center.
With state-of-the-art equipment at the Research Center, graduating students conducting their thesis can experience top-of-the-line facilities at a lower cost. This not only enhances their learning experience but also allows them to contribute to the advancement of the industry. But it's not just students who benefit from these centers. Our livelihood projects also extend to marginalized chicken raisers, providing them with the resources and support they need to thrive in the industry. The T.C. Robles Educational Foundation is dedicated to empowering students and farmers to pursue a stronger and more sustainable Philippine Native Chicken Industry. Join us in our mission today.
Meet DR. TEODORO "Ted" CANILLAS ROBLES, the fourth Filipino President of Central Philippine University and a man with a big heart for his alma mater. Appointed as President of CPU from 2008 to 2023, Dr. Robles dedicated his time and efforts to uplifting the university and its community.
However, his contributions extend beyond the boundaries of the campus. In 2012, he offered his family farm in Leon, Iloilo, Philippines, as the first technology demonstration farm for the Research Center for Philippine Native Chicken. It was a selfless act, as he provided the land for the project at no cost. This gesture further showcased his commitment to supporting the country's agricultural industry development.
Under his leadership, the Research Center for Philippine Native Chicken, the Research Center for Product Development, and the Technology Business Center were established. These centers have contributed significantly to the advancements in the Philippine agricultural and poultry sectors.
Dr. Robles' full support on behalf of the administration of CPU paved the way for the Philippine Native Chicken to gain the prestige it has today. His vision and dedication to helping the industry are genuinely merited, and his contributions will continue to impact the university and the country.
Hence, the T.C. Robles Educational Foundation is named after him in gratitude to the Philippine Native Chicken for the legacy he shared with us. We are proud to be one of his accomplishments during his term as the University President of this prestigious institution, the Central Philippine University. He will always be a part of every success these centers and the partner-raisers will have. He always says, "The more we work together, the more we can accomplish."
